Profile
Chris Bentley knows how to hold a room. A former professional lock with over a decade in elite rugby, he played across the globe, learning the split-second timing, presence, and connection that now define his work on stage.
Today, Chris is the co-founder of Not Working Networking, the South West’s leading business networking club, and co-host of 2 Locks and a Cox with international referee Sara Cox. As an MC, auctioneer, and event host, he has led conferences, festivals, sporting dinners, and gala fundraisers, raising close to £1M for charity.
His preparation is meticulous — speaking with every speaker in advance, understanding their message, and weaving it into a seamless narrative. On stage, he moves easily between humour and gravitas, reading the room with instinctive precision. Whether introducing a keynote, running a high-stakes auction, or hosting an evening with sporting royalty, Chris brings the presence and adaptability that turn a programme into an experience.
